I couldn’t believe it when we got the call and were asked to style a proposal – The first in Locate to Creates history. The setting was perfect, The Cherry Barn, and it was down to Locate to Create to bring together some of our favourite suppliers to style a proposal of dreams.
Proposals are some of the most intimate and personal moments of a couple’s relationship, so a bespoke approach was always mandatory. After speaking with the groom to be, we got the stripped-down information that enabled us to get creative with the mood-board. Needless to say, he loved it.
We ran the mood-board past some of our favourite suppliers including Jo from Moody Blooms, Rebecca Carpenter Photography, Russell Kent Nicholls Videography, the girls at Chiqas Music and Annie from Blackbird Catering. They completely feel in love with the magic on offer and were eager to get their creative juices flowing…. Lockdown had sent us a little crazy so the change of creating something this magical certainty tickled lots of taste buds.
The theme for the day was a twist on the traditional red rose. Pinks, reds and marrons where all used by Jo along with stunning green foliage to create subtle yet amazing floral displays. The archway Jo created on our Birch backdrop was the perfect setting for the couple to walk through before the big question. Did I mention she said yes?
With all this amazing work taking place at the Cherry Barn, the bride to be had to be transported to the Barn without knowing anything….. The story was that they were going to a secret supper club deep into East Sussex. A far cry from the truth but a perfect alibi. She really did have no idea of the occasion even when walking over the bridge at the Cherry Barn. As soon as she walked through the stunning foliage arch, all become clear… The amazing girls from Chiqas gently played some of her favourite music whilst Rebecca and Russell covertly captured some amazing moments. It really was truly a special moment.
After the magical question was asked Rebecca and Russell directed a mini photo shoot before they were seated at one of our beautiful dressed trestle tables. Sparkle was created behind the table through the use of our over-the-top backdrop and fairy lights. This created a rich sparkle that made the barn feel far more intermate. Annie from Black Bird Catering prepared a stunning menu that complimented the sensational evening. They completed loved the food and were in shock at how beautiful the Barn looked.
The whole event was such a wonderful way to get back into styling events, all the suppliers worked together harmoniously and curated a stunning day. We even had a few supplier tears when she said yes!
