Real Wedding - Georgie and Sam's Autumnal Utopia

The Brief:

When Georgie and Sam approached us to be their Wedding Stylists, we were enthralled by the idea of creating their dream Autumnal Utopia. Throughout the summer we had worked on many Weddings, largely made up of pinks, mint greens and nudes - all of which we LOVED styling, but knowing we had a change of style coming up, it really got us excited.

Georgie and Sam’s initial request for colours involved a lot of green with hints of rust. From there, we developed their ideal colour palette. We knew that dark green was going to be their base colour but we needed to add a mixture of rich and neutral to their palette.

Rust orange, sunflower yellow and spiced apple added the richness we were looking for while evening blue, sand beige and powder white incorporated more neutral tones to the colour scheme.

Now that we had developed the colour palette for our Bride and Groom, it was time to begin brainstorming some unique wedding ideas. We were lucky enough to be working with some amazing Kent Wedding Suppliers to ensure the vision was brought to life flawlessly.

The Venue:

The Glasshouse in Wrotham was the perfect blank canvas for their Kent Wedding. The wooden wall paired with the open ceiling and glass doors provides the feeling of being outdoors, whilst actually having the security of being inside (we all hate thinking about the wet-weather options, don't we).

The rustic wooden elements within the Buttery were perfect for pairing the rich tones used within their colour scheme and provided the ideal breakout area for guests during their drinks reception.

The Ceremony:

We wanted to create a statement and change up the regular Welcome Sign on an easel display… Our Wooden Plinths had been hidden away over the summer, so we decided to put them forward for something else besides being a floral stand. Julia from Palette and Page designed an order of service and welcome sign which we hung from the inside of the plinths. The wooden plinths created the perfect ‘frames’ for the signs, and the signs really became the focal point of aisle entrance.

For the Ceremony Styling, our goal was to create Autumnal abundance and a focal feature for the Bride and Groom to say ‘I Do’ in front of. Instead of going for a regular draped wooden backdrop, we suggested two large floral columns connected by a semi-circle floor display - The two columns representing the couple being joined in marriage, a lovely analogy if you don't mind us saying so ourselves..

Jo from Moody Blooms, who was the florist for this wedding, outdid herself in creating one of the most beautiful ceremony displays we have seen to date. Each colour from the moodboard had been incorporated and effortlessly blended with the Brides requested florals - Sunflowers.

The Drinks Reception:

The Buttery at The Glasshouse turned into a trip down memory lane with our Crate Display holding the couples family photos and photos of their relationship. The idea behind the crate display was to create a backdrop for guests to take polaroid pictures in front of before hanging them on our Sam Stand (one of our post popular Wedding Props).

The Crate Display was a great way of adding different levels and heights to the Buttery. The wood of the crates fitted in perfectly with with the Bride and Grooms earthy and rustic theme.

We added to G&S’s drinks reception by including a seating area in their colour palette. Our Glorious Golden Seating Area fitted perfectly beneath the terrace pergoda - creating a ‘glowing’ spot for guests to relax.

Wedding Furniture, like our styled seating areas, are the perfect addition to any drinks reception. Not only are they very practical for your wedding, but they also add to your wedding style and theme by changing it up from the regular outdoor furniture feeling.

Wedding Breakfast:

The Wedding Breakfast was hosted within the venue's Glasshouse. This meant a rather rapid room turnaround for the Locate to Create team. As our team folded chairs and carried in tables, we couldn’t help feeling so excited to have the opportunity to style such a beautiful wedding - the Ceremony and Drinks reception went off without a hitch.

Our Event Furniture was largely used for the reception, making use of our wooden round tables which were paired with our rustic folding chairs (both tying in well with the venue's wooden wall). The Bride and Groom's green choices really came through within the tablescaping. Each place setting was set with a pearl charger plate. We paired the neutral charger plates with a deep green napkin and matching water goblet from our recommended supplier, Black Saucers Tableware.

To add a contrasting pop of colour to each table, lemon yellow twisted tapered candles were scattered around clusters of our clay and amber bud vases which were filled with beautiful fresh flowers and foliage by Moody Blooms.

The Bride and Groom added so many thoughtful and personal elements to their tablescape, each place setting featured a small pocket of lavender seeds for guests to take home as a memento from their big day.

Their table names featured photos of the couple in their favourite places which were displayed within our gold acrylic frames. And as if the couple could get any more creative - they also included a game for each table to keep their guests occupied between courses.

Styling the top table is one of our favourite parts of the process. Georgie and Sam’s was set up at the back of the venue on our long trestle tables. We ensured the ceremony columns were reused within this space and were placed on either side of the of the top table with the floor arrangements placed just in front of the table. This really differentiated them from the guest tables and carried through the “focal feature” from the ceremony.

This was such an amazing wedding to style, from inception to execution. We worked with some amazing suppliers and came up with some unique ideas. The Bride's tears when seeing the venue on the morning of her wedding, was worth all the hard work. We’re very thankful to all our couples who trust us to bring their wedding styling to life.

Thank you so much to Nicola Dawson for the amazing photos!
